Rooted in Compassion. Dedicated to Restoring Hope & Transforming Lives.
NIMA was founded on the unyielding principle that healing is a birthright, safe sanctuary is an emergency essential, and dignity must never be negotiated.
Bridging Mental Health Sanctuary with Physical Autonomy & Protection.
In communities across Texas and expanding global outreach corridors, silence surrounds domestic violence, mental trauma, and biological dignity. Women and girls are often forced to choose between personal safety and basic necessities.
At NIMA, we eradicate this isolation. We blend professional psychological crisis interventions with immediate safe housing conduits and comprehensive menstrual hygiene education. When a survivor steps into our sanctuary, she receives not temporary charity, but permanent solidarity.
"We do not merely shelter bodies; we rebuild the delicate architecture of hope and self-worth."

From Vision to Sanctuary: Deborah J. Obareki’s Journey
Deborah J. Obareki began NIMA not from an institutional desk, but from the frontlines of human resilience. Observing the severe toll of unaddressed psychological distress, domestic intimidation, and economic disenfranchisement among women, she recognized a glaring void: healing was fragmented.
Jennie witnessed adolescent girls missing up to a quarter of their academic year solely due to period poverty—the cruel scarcity of basic menstrual supplies. Concurrently, she saw women fleeing hostile homes with nowhere confidential to turn without sacrificing their dignity or autonomy.
With visionary determination, Jennie fused clinical trauma care, community-driven emergency sheltering, and grassroots school supplies into a single restorative ecosystem. Under her executive stewardship, NIMA serves as both a physical safe haven in Richmond, Texas and an international advocacy beacon empowering women from immediate crisis into lifelong sovereignty.
Every woman deserves safety, healing, dignity, and a brighter future. Together, we can transform pain into purpose and hope into reality.
